Hello, thanks for having me aboard

Post by organaut » 17 May 2016, 23:19

Hello folks, I started playing a beat up old piano when I was 7 which my father bought for £5 and repaired by himself .the electronic organ sound had appealed to me though since I was 5 when I heard it on my parents record collection and on the sale of the century tv programme when Peter Fenn used to play the Hammond X5. My first organ was a Bontempi chord organ and then an Eko portable 49 note single keyboard. Nothing like a Tyros but I loved it at the time. When I was about 14 I had about a years organ lessons at Madins in Chesterfield . When my father died from an illness We couldn't afford anymore lessons so I taught myself from then on and in any case I was already playing in pubs and working mens clubs at the weekend by then.
To cut a long story short I owned many different organs and chopped and changed quite a bit. Still gigging but these days around sheltered elderly accomodation around where I live in Brighton with my partner Markusfuller who is also my technician, manager and roadie. We both enjoy making youtube videos, he with electronics and myself playing music .I also make and sell registration software .I have for a long time been a die hard organist
and until the last few years not taking single keyboards as a serious option for my musical pursuits. That was until the Tyros and similar instruments came along . I gig a Tyros 4 but Also now have owned a Tyros 5 76 for nearly a year now and still find its depth of sound and versatility, fathomless. There is always something new for me to discover everytime I play it.
Best wishes. and thanks again. :D
