Hello,

I'm new to this forum so I thought I would just mention that I have been playing since 1981. I had lessons for three years, I have owned Technics E44, U60, G7, GX7 and now play a Tyros 2 & a Technics G100. I converted my floppy disc drive to USB because it stopped working. That's sort of Ok, but file management is not too clear!

Thank you all,

Colin

Hello Colin,
Welcome to the forum. I hope you will enjoy being a member. A little confused here as Tyros 2 dose not have a floppy drive. Just USB ports. You can play direct from any USB stick that has data on it for the keyboard choosing Button J to show registration Banks, Button D to show Styles, Button A to play songs, Button F for multi pads. If you have any questions please feel free to ask away.

Hi Eileen,

Yes, you are correct. The Tyros is USB external storage. I modified the Technics G100 from floppy disc to USB Emulator. Now I just plug a FAT32 format USB in to it and can save the equivalent of 100 floppy discs,

thank you,

Colin

BTW, the Tyros (2) is a superb machine. I have it loading music from registrations on my IPad, I guess later Tyros have more features too! I use songbook+ for the songs. Its really great. I also use a bluetooth page turner, that is good too once you get used to it!

Kind Regards

Colin
