How to post your recordings?

Post by Jan-Eve » 23 Jan 2014, 18:51

I have been around this forum and can`t find how to convert Waw files, recorded on my 950 to MP3.
The second issue is how to put it on the forum? Perhaps someone can give me information, how? And others can also give it a go... I am not a perfect keyboardplayer, but I will try to share my songs.
Best for now from Jan - Eve.

Hi Jan Eve,
I use a free computer programme called Audacity to convert my Wav files to MP3 files and then upload them to Box.com or Soundcloud. They both offer free storage. You just upload your file and then post the link onto the site.

Thank You Eileen! I have already Audacity, but can`t understand where to go in the program. Can you give me some adwise? Sound Cloud, there you must login a account. Is it copy and paste as usual?

Hello Jan-Eve,

There is an export function in Audacity where you can define the output file format like mp3 for example. Here is the link to the manual that describes it: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/File_Export_Dialog

As for Box and Soundcloud: You will need to register first with one of them. I like to use Box because its user interface is easier to use and I find that it offers better sound when listening on the computer compared to Soundcloud.

Hope this helps. Cheers, Roland :D

Hi Jan Eve,
You will have to sign up with Box or soundcloud for a free account first.

Another stupid question... When you have registered an account on Box.com and your name is on the screen, whats next? I have managed to convert a wav file to MP3, it is on my desktop. How can I load it to Box.com? Better to ask once more, so I don`t make a wrong thing..
Best Regards Jan - Eve.
